This role is primarily office based at Wellmans Road Distribution Centre however you may be required to support at off site with employee related meetings as and when required, you’ll be working in conjunction with the DC HR Manager, and work on the production and continuous review of all employee relations processes and associated support documentation. What you’ll need on your CV...

You’ll be an experienced HR Assistant and therefore it goes without saying you’ll be a natural leader with a desire to lead from the front and have the ability to make decisions and have excellent communication skills, gained in all forms of communication such as email, telephone and occasional face to face meetings.

Ideally you will have HR/ER experience gained working in a similar distribution centre, for example Supermarkets, FMCG or discount retailing is desirable. Ideally your experience would have gained experience in advising Line Managers on all HR/ER Matters, and be able to demonstrate you know how to get things done in a pressurised environment.

You’ll be designing and implementing local Reward and People Systems strategies for Poundland Group that reward achievement of business growth and profitability, in line with the corporate plan, supporting employee engagement and marketing competitiveness.

Being passionate about the reward landscape you’ll be able to roll your sleeves up and be involved in managing:

- Evolving Group organisation design and maintaining systems and processes for job creation, job evaluation, salary benchmarking, job grading and associated reward and benefits frameworks, including the ongoing review of store pay scales.

- Developing, project managing and governing cyclical reward and HR Systems including monthly MI insights reporting and delivery of annual pay review; annual reward statements; bonus; and LTIP cycles, aligned to Performance Reviews.

- All processes relating to senior remuneration including producing papers for the local (Poundland Group) Remuneration Committee.

- Relationships with external benefits (and pensions) providers, exploring opportunities to introduce new benefits, where appropriate and cost effective.

- Manage the delivery of internal weekly, four-weekly and monthly payroll for all Group employees, ensuring data integrity and accuracy and legal compliance (supported by both the Payroll Manager / team and MI Analyst).

- Manage both the design and delivery of ad-hoc spot reward schemes and the administration of long-service awards, supported by the payroll team.

- Work with the broader HR team to define any necessary improvements to Poundland’s HR systems & infrastructure working in partnership with Poundland’s IT function.

- Input to Government on areas of consultation e.g.holidays, working time or national minimum wage.

- Ensure Poundland complies with the all relevant legislation in relation to reward and benefits, including payment taxation and compliance with employment legislation, including the annual completion of equal pay audits.

About You...

You’ll be the business expert in all matters relating to reward and benefits advising senior managers and the HR team so we’re looking for applications from passionate HR Reward & Benefits specialists with prior experience gained in a Retail landscape and the following:

*Strong commercial / financial awareness including a working understanding of financial measurement metrics such as EBITDA, CAGR, ROCE, EPS, etc.

*Proven ability to design reward structures that enable a high level of organisational effectiveness.

*A strong background of HR, Payroll, MI service delivery and project management.

*Demonstrable analytical and numeracy skills and able to lead in developing, discussing and analysing different proposals.

*Proven ability to manage teams and associated budgets.

*Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to provide a detailed picture of market conditions and activities.

*Strong influencing and interpersonal skills, in order to build and develop strong internal and external relationships.

*Proficient in main PC packages. Skilled in data manipulation using Excel and Access.

*Meticulous attention to detail.

*Educated to degree level and/or relevant experience and Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) qualified.
